The Grand needs Friends
Friends of the Grand, a
registered charity, is committed to both supporting the development and
promoting the work of Blackpool's historic Grand Theatre, built by
architect Frank Matcham in 1894.
Over the last twenty
years the Friends have contributed in excess of £400,000 towards projects
to maintain the Theatre at a high standard. This has included the
provision of new carpets, seating and technical equipment. The Friends
have contributed £110,000 to the Sam Lee Appeal to renovate the interior
of the theatre to its original splendour, and they recently became the
Founding Angel of the National Theatre of Variety.
