Driving Licence. A UK driving Licence is valid for one year in the USA

Car Hire. Hire a car from a national company and make sure there are no mileage charges. As they will try to sell you extra insurance check exactly what CDW or LDW covers. Try two or three different company’s before you commit yourself.
Make sure you take your driving licence with you.
(CDW or LDW usually only covers the car plus small cover for accident liability. To cover yourself against accident liability you require extra insurance approx. $10 per day)

General Driving Rules. Passing school buses, loading or unloading, whichever side of the road they are on is prohibited. Reduced speed Limits are in effect at all school zones when children are entering or leaving school. Approx. 15mph.

Traffic Lights. In most states you are allowed to turn right when the lights are on red as long as you stop first and make sure nothing is coming from the left, unless otherwise stated. Check with the car hire company for regulations.
